Not done yet, but hoping to be done soon. Having a little trouble with this though. I want it took like I'm over looking the city of New York, but can't seem to get it to look right.

Hi Hershy,

I like the idea, but your perspective is a bit off, the skyline should perhaps be in the distance and you should have the black and white sea of houses in the front.

Also what's up with the dropshadow on the skyline :) kill that

And I would chose another style of green for the front, I can't imagine, that there would be this kind of green towering somewhere over a skyline.

Hope this helps!

Ahh, also the coloring of skyline in the front, seems a bit too bright?

Ok ya given me a few ideas how to improve. The drop shadow was an attempt to kind of separate the cliff and the city below. Still not sure how I'm going to do that. But yeah I'm gonna make a few changes and see what happens

I'm having a little trouble with the first part of your comment. To me it looks like the skyline is in the back. This is in the heart of NYC so there are no houses, just tall ass buildings.

Looks panoramic I like it But the area where the grass meets is a bit blurred and (looks to me as if emboss was added or shadow

Looks good but that shawdow wouldnt be there the lights coming down, not up though the grass........ just a thought no criticism

oops sorry only the first loaded I didnt see second till I posted..looks go!

That looks a whole lot better! What I meant is that it looks a bit unnatural looking from a cliff like that, in the middle of a big city onto a skyline which is this close. I hope this is understandable. =)

In fact there would need to be a big ass hill to have that kind view on the new york skyline. That's what ticks me off a bit looking at the image.

BTW the lighting on the skyline looks really good.

Hey Hershy, for me it's the foreground or the "cliff" itself. I feel more like I'm on a hill looking down and then NY city just pops up from nowhere. The first image was more cliff like. The cliff edge would require a sharp delineation. The focus should either be the city or the cliff, both literally and compositional. Lower your foreground by increasing the amount of city thus reducing the cliff. The skyline should be more towards the center of your canvas if there's enough in the original photo.
Don't know if this will help, just some thoughts.

I like the concept..........it removes the viewer from reality........the idea is that there would NOT be a big hill tall enough to overlook NYC!

Ok, ok... my bad, sorry, i didn't realize that :sprint:

I thought you wanted to create like a scenic scene overlooking the skyline

Nah, even though I've never been to NYC I still knew no such thing was there over looking Central Park like that.
