(And iDad, my apologies for not making an animated version of the alterations, lmao. That was a nice job you did with inkpad's toxic bath ;p)

Personally i would have liked to see the apparition with a more subtle edge to it.

I was debating that Paul. It's the result of a lighting effect and I considered removing more of it. I'll give that a try and post it above.

And chrisix, snakes eyes, lol!

PS: I think you mean all the edges, so I feathered the selection, softened the edges, then soft-painted out some more on her layer mask.

Or Naked........... Don't bother Clare, I'll say it............

"iDad, you're so disgusting"

nice work i_B seeing there!

Geez didn't realise we had to say 'great job' with every critique now, not once did i say a bad word - just my personal alteration via critique.

Clare, so sorry I missed this one yesterday......must have had one of those moments!! Either an IamSam or a senior moment.....it's so hard to tell the difference nowadays!

Fantastic job! Love the concept and comp. I believe I like the second version of the aberration after Paul's suggestion. I really don't have any crits.

The second one is def the best but one thing that looks off to me is the girls hand on the ground. Too me it looks like its floating a little. Maybe I'm wrong.

You're right Hershy, I had trouble with that. Don't ask me why. I think maybe since I had the layer set to low opacity, hard light, 100% black didn't get it. So why didn't I make an additional layer of shadow at a normal blend mode? Uh, must've gotten distracted and overlooked it. I guess, lol. Or maybe I had an Iam moment! Huh Sam? I'll go back in and fix that. But probably won't post it. Or maybe I'll switch out the second one. I just hate going into advanced mode to do that, but I'll survive the experience I imagine.

Thank you both for your comments Sam and Hershy. Much appreciated.

Nice composition Aunty..

The softer ghost I love the most lol. So a big well done. The blending of the elements are great. I would have liked to have seen the light and shadow of the window on her if you know what I mean, as she is sat on top of it.

Never the less, a very good piece.

I thought I had worked the window light in OK, but it is often the case that reviewing after a few days improves my objective self-critique. I used to wait longer before I posted. I remember drejs saying that he would keep improving an image, in some cases for as long as a month, before he considered it ready to share. Maybe I'll try slowing down. I'm just caught up in a bit of a manic photoshopping whirlwind at the moment. So I guess your input will get me back to working on these manipulations and I'll repost in a month or so!

I remember punching out 2-3 manips a day lol...

Now a take upto 2-3 days to finish one off. I find it best to work on one for a few hours at a time then come back to it the next day with fresh eyes lol.

i was guilty of workikng too long when i worked with oils and i do the same here , good advice though walk away and see with fresh eyes . most of the time you see the little things you miss

All this "fresh eyes" talk. I feel like I really need to address this issue. What does that mean? Strange English is, don't we all know. A mish mash of how many languages?

So, back to fresh . . . refreshed after sleep, after taking weary eyes off computer monitor, after a little caffeine? Or fresh as in ripe, sweet, ready for . . . well, whatever.

So I searched the web and I found some images that I hope will clarify this for all of us, once and for all everybody. Now go enjoy your "fresh eyeballs!"

EYEBALLS BEFORE, red and tired:

FRESH EYEBALLS, CALIFORNIA STYLE: like sweet! and all and everything. Like, ya know? But like, where's the beef? Like, gag me with a spoon! Totally.

Let's thank the Valley Girl for this scrumptious preparation!
