Optimizing for the web?

What settings should i have for the best Optimizing for the web?
i want the best quality with the least amont of bytes.
here's what im set at.

Well, for the best color settings on the web, you should use your monitor sRGB colorspace(which is what you have it on). The Adobe RGB space is awesome if you're printing, but for web stuff, what you have it on is fine. Same with the 2.2 gamma grayscale. Most of your images will be grayscale, rgb or bitmap(only b&w), so you can ignore all of the other settings, most are for optimizing prints. And as far as best quality for your buck, it has nothing to do with color, but how heavy the jpeg axe falls on your image...

Ya Bob... that's NOT where you do your image "optimizing" from. Those settings are for calibrating PS with specific colour profiles.

Under "FILE>Save for Web..." is where you setup optimization levels.

Mark, i was hoping that might have had something to do with it cause when i Save for Web it seems i have to use the low settings to get what i use to get with medium

Optimization is all about numbers Bob.

The more colours you have, the larger the final output. And with Gifs, it's also about the 'order' or 'pattern' of colours in an image.

For instance...

A Linear grad running horizontally (top to bottom) would be a smaller file size than one running vertically (left to right).

Why? Because with Gif compression it's about storing colour info. If a row of pixels changes colours continuosly from left to right, that's more data to be stored. Whereby if a row only has one colour from left to right, that repeats, that's only 1 data entry.

Your problem with the colours? Turn off color managment

I'm sorry, your server administrator palos verdes taxi has disabled passthru(), system() and exec(), thus you cannot use this backup script. You may consider using the default WordPress database backup script instead.
