Thought I'd start a new thread on the subject above since the one underneath this post is 5 months old. So I was talking to this girl that goes to the same coffee shop I go to, and this template was the aftermath of our conversation. Not done yet, but there's enough to look at. I'll finish it tomorrow and maybe get some ideas from the PSG community. Too darn tired now as I have been up since 4:30am and it is now 11:15pm.

I think you need to use a little cell padding. The text cell and the photo next to it would look better with white space around them. Then I would put a thin border around the picture, any color even the same aqua.

I don't think I like the idea of putting any animation in the header. If you took out the form, that would be a great place.

It would balance better IMO if the divs -- the form, the photo -- were the same height. Sry if I have my terms wrong; haven't done web design in years.

To me, the message form is rather ugly and I would like to see a button that would take you to it. Then again, isn't it redundant as you have the contact nav button above? Personally, I think the font ought to be a bit smaller.

I like the shape of the content holder, the maroon BG and the tubular shape. The buttons are very cool too. Keep up the good work.
 
Put a screen shot of yours up clare, so he/she gets where your coming from.
 
Forgot about the contact button above. I just wanted to populate the home page with stuff. Yeah the white space around the photo is something I was having a difficult time with. Work on it later, just got up.
 
Cleaned up some of the CSS markup and fixed some of the alignment issues I didn't notice before. Per Clare's insight, removed the "Contact" link from the top as it doesn't make sense to have a link and a form that seem to do the same thing. Paul, I'm a guy :lol:
Changed to font-size from 20px to 1.2 em's. Em is a unit of measurement that scales elements based on a user's browser settings. An example is if a user has their default font-size set to 16 pixels for whatever browser they use, 16 pixels is equal to 1 em. If I set the text to 2 ems and the user has their font-size set to 16 pixels, 2 ems would display a font-size of 32 pixels. I typically use this unit of measurement for text in everything I do. Guess I forgot about it yesterday.
