opening tiff file in ACR

I am unable to open my tiff files in ACR from either Bridge or Photoshop (using CS6). In bridge, the option under File, is greyed out. Please help.

I don't know if this will help because going to File|Open in Camera Raw should (I think) bypass other settings but try this.
Got to Edit|Camera Raw Preferences and enable support for Tiff files.

I have gone into preferences and enabled support for tiff files. Also, under FILE, 'open in Ca,era Raw is greyed out. I am stumped.

Well I don't know if it will help but try resetting the preferences file.It cures a lot of strange behavior in PS.


Start Photoshop and immediately hold down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows)
or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS X).


Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?"
