Opening options panel

I can't figure out how to have the "add an adjustment layer" and the "add a layer style" panels open the lists up vertically instead of down where I'm required to scroll up in order to access the options. In other words, I would like to see the entire list when I click on the icon. See the two screen shots. I'm sure it's something in preferences, but I can't find it. Thanks.

You need to lower the Ps frame closer to the bottom of the screen. Then the adjustment layer options will appear to the top and not he bottom.

Thanks very much. I assumed it was probably something simple. I moved PS to the edge and it works great. Thank again.
