Hello all, I have attached the picture that I am trying to duplicate along with my feeble attempt. I want to know how to keep the VIVID color of the original, yet keep the opaque look. When I try to manipulate the opacity and layers, my colors fade. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Just as Hawkeye instructs.

The mascot is not quite as bright as your "original", but the vibrancy is well preserved from my original.

The mascot is set to Overlay blending mode and 85% opacity.

Cheap tricked with magic wand over the bird, erased that bird then content filled to have almost full metal layer, placed copied bird onto the now blank metal layer boosted vibrance and colours then lowered opacity, made another bird copy from that and did the same again then applied overlay, altered that again by dropping opacity slightly.
