One of my first attemps

Made this one from a coastal background, a landturtle and an old German helmet.
I'm doing this for like a month, so it is not perfect but it has given me the opportunity to work with warp and textures.
Just to say that nature recycles eveything

LOL... looks good for a first attempt. I could suggest lowering the shadow intensity a bit. And adding reflective hilights to the helmet/shell top.

I agree that the shadow is too dark. Then I would desaturate the green waves and the yellow beach a bit.

Thank you both. Indeed, the shadow was too dark and the sea and beachsand too vivid.
I adjusted it. Looks good for me.

Personally the German insignia could go for me.

This is in no way a political statement. I just used that kind of helmet because it fitted like a 'shell'. I tried first with an old US helmet but I had to stretch the center of the helmet to much and it didn't look good anymore. The insigna is worned out so it looks old.

Not out of anything but the Eagle/Swastika is more of a badge or symbol of the 3rd Reich rather than the German issued regulation helmet of the time.... different from those I've seen.... just saying....



addendum.... Ahhhh , I think I just found the helmet you could have used for it. It didn't have the decal.......

... never mind, I just found some with that very decal.... lol.... my bad.
