Am working with antique books, scanning them in with a view to reprinting as special editions. Many of the pages are yellowed and stained. What I need to do is to remove all color from the page, so it's just plain white, and enhance contrast slightly in the text. Given the number of pages, and books, this needs to be done as a batch process. I've tried using Threshold in Photoshop (CS4), but the results are uneven and would clearly vary from page to page. Is there some way I can batch process each page back to an even white easily? Some kind of binarization plug-in, maybe? Would be happy to use Acrobat, or Photoshop, or any software, basically, that can give me the right result quickly and easily. Thanks in advance for any advice.
