Well, the more precise description would be I don't know how to describe what I want to.

I want to take this picture:

UnknownHockeyTeam.jpg

And clear up the chest area so I can get a look at the team logo. I would look up a tutorial, but the problem is I don't know the term for what I want to do. There are literally thousands of tutorials on "Photo manipulation" so I was hoping someone could give me a good search term to narrow it down, or give me a tutorial they know would be handy.

I've never touched Photoshop before, so this is all brand new to me. I'm not trying to create a universe on a grain of sand or anything, just touch the photo up so I can see what the chest logo is. I'd appreciate any kind of advice!

You can actually go into the lighting effects and mess around with those. Go into "Image" then "Adjustments". You can hit "Auto Contrast" which will automatically brighten your foreground, or better yet the 'lighter' part of your picture. Your best bet is to: from "Adjustments" go to "Brightness/Contrast" and up the levels there. Hope that helps and good luck!!!

Kim =)
