Hey,
Im new to this forum and i have to say it is really good!

Now to my problem:
I have to edit a scanned TIF image with the size of ~700 MB, but when i want to open it with PS (CS5) it says:
Not enough RAM ...
But I have 6GB of it so i think it should manage to open it
I have already tried to allocate more memory to photoshop (I think i tried max. ~ 4500MB),b ut it still doesnt worked...

So if you could help me, I would really appreciate that...thanks. :)

what operating system are you using windows\ mac

have you got 64 bit operating system if so you can only use up to 4 gig of ram I think that is the same for 32 bit photoshop instead of 64 bit.

does not seem like a ram issue unless you have damaged ram or spyware.

do a spyware scan using malware bytes or spybot search and destroy for pc not sure of a good 1 for mac

I am using Windows 7 64bit system
Are you running the 64bit version of Photoshop?
PS 32bit will use 3.4mb and PS 64 bit will use all available memory with a 64 bit OS.

You shouldn't be having a out of memory issue.
See if resetting your preferences file helps, it fixes a lot of strange problems in Photoshop.
Start Photoshop and immediately hold down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows)
or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS X).

Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?"
