I located this image I want to tweak. I am sure I could keep messing with it until I found something, but I figured I'd ask the experts.

Of course I want to fill the blank area with my custom text. What is a good font and effect to use on this image to make it look realistic?

Hi 8))

It's very very very hard to answer this question. There are soooo many fonts out there.
To find a similar font can sometimes be nearly impossible. I did try, however, to find a font using whats available in CS2.
I came somewhat close. I'm a perfectionist and I'm not satisfied [shhh] [confused] :D

To do this I sampled the colour of the text and wrote the text. To make it look bolder I duplicated the layer. And again.
I also had to do some tweaking in the Character-palette.
To do the headline I used black as a color, duplicated the text, merged the two layers and lowered the opacity a little bit.

Probably not the best solution for this, but it was quick.

That is pretty slick. I am a perfectionist too, but also a noob in a lot of areas. I know how to sample colors, but duplicating the layer & duplicating text I am lost? Sure I have seen it in a tutorial before.

Duplicating a layer is easy. Select the layer you want to duplicate and press CTRL + J.
The reason I did this was to make the font slightly bolder. When you work with lines and/or text this is the result when duplicating layers.

Just try it! :-)

Ps: When I wrote "duplicate the text" in the answer above, I meant duplicating the layer which the headline-text was written.
