Hi folks,
I cant seem to figure this out and im sure its very simple, so any help is appreciated

I need to work with two jpgs, one is a company logo, the other is a background of company, I need to have the logo image overlayed on top of the background image with a slight opacity, I figured out how to change the opacity, but i cant seem to get it too open the two images and drop the one over th other, any help is appreciated
thanks again

you need to copy the logo into the image of the company (this will create a layer for the logo). Change the blending option for the logo layer to the opacity you want.

Open both images; you will now have two documents open. Drag the logo with the move tool to the document with the company and it will add the logo to this document on a new layer.

Thanks for the info, the problem im stuck on is this" when I open a image it shows up ok, when I open a second image it is as if I never opened the first one, and they open locked, I can only convert it to a smart object, so this is where im stuck, I cant seem to get two pictures to open

What exactly do you mean by "it is as if I never opened the first one"? \:/ Does it disappear?

The process is straightforward:

- Use File/Open to open the image with the company
- Use File/Open again, this time to open the image with the logo (that both images appear on a locked background layer is normal and doesn't affect the move from one image to another image in any way)
- Select the move tool (see attachment) and click inside the window that contains your logo, hold down the mouse button, move the mosue cursor to the company image and release the mouse button. The logo will now appear as a new layer inside the document that contains an image of the company on the (locked) background layer.

Be aware: both images need to be in the same mode, check this with Image/Mode. If they're not then I would suggest you to set both to RGB.
