Hi everyone,

My name is Dawn and I am 28 years old. I have been enjoying working with graphics for a few years now and had always wished I could afford Photoshop. A few months ago, I was given Photoshop 7 and was really excited. I had been able to learn some pretty impressive stuff on other programs, but felt that now that I had the program of choice by professionals, I could learn some really amazing things. Then I opened Photoshop and dragged up some tutorials for beginning PS that I had used for other programs. Alas I was able to open the program and load a new document, but couldn't get much father than that. Still haven't been able to get much further than that point, even after a few months. So I joined this community hoping that I can one day get past this stalmate point. LOL.

When I'm not working on my computer, I enjoy writing poetry, reading, and learning about antiques. Everyone seems to be really friendly here, so I hope to make lots of friends and learn more about PS than I could every imagine (eventually... LOL).

'lo Dawn,

You're in the right place for Photoshop help. You find the problem and we help you fix it. :D

Cheers Al

I'm excited!

I can't believe it! I almost got the tutorial for theKeeper's starburst done correctly. Somehow I lost the black background though. Oh well, it still looks pretty. :) Took me a few tries and I'm not sure I did the draw a rectangular selection down the left side of the canvas part right, but I did accomplish something which is something three books on PS has never been able to do for me. :) If you'd like to see it, not that you haven't all made simple starbursts, just please tell me the right place to post it. :)

You can show it to us here if you like, Dawn... or you can post it in the 'Showboard' area of the board by starting a new thread there! :D

Need some help if you will. :)

I had decent luck with the first tutorial so now this morning I am trying the Creating Spirograph pattern tutorial. I am having troubles figuring out where the circular selection tool is. Can anyone please help me? Thanks.

would love to see it Dawn and well done on your first completion :righton:
