Hi-

I'm new to this community and I have a question about using Photoshop Elements 3.0 with a Nikon 885 digital camera. The camera literature claims that I must use NikonView 4.0 to download pictures directly from the camera to the computer. Because PS Elements 3.0 is more recent than the camera, I would expect it to be able to download pictures directly from the camera without using NikonView. Does anyone know?

Thanks, tomh

PS If I remove the compact flash card from the camera, I can download directly using a card reader.

I run Canon equipment but have friends that run Nikon and they both use Elements to harvest images from their CF cards. Make sure you have the Camera Raw plugin installed and that it supports your camera (that is if your camera supports raw mode (the only way to go in my book) and you shoot raw (...)).

Note however, that after about 5,000 images Elements 3.0 slows down a lot. I use IMatch and am handling over 20,000 active images right now.
