I just joined the forum looking at the impressive tutorial of turnin the real girl into a character

I too have a site that explains basic step wise tutorial...but would love to do some creative stuff in there and also would welcome if someone is willing to post in there...
i have some series of questions
what is the quickest way to blend colors to grayscale...
doing it with multiple layers? or layer mask?
