Hey,

Im new to designing and I downloaded Photoshop and Fireworks CS5 to play around with and I was wondering if photoshop has a properties tab somewhere I dont see. In fireworks the x, y, width and height of something can be edited using the properties feature.

Welcome to PSG.
When you selected a tool, there will be a tool property bar directly below the pull down menu.

You don't have all the same options in PS that you have in Fireworks.
The options you do have are in the tool bar directly below the pull down menu bar.
The options that are available vary depending on the tool.
The screen shot below is for the brush tool.
