I'm using Photoshop CS5. I edit my photos with it, and they look great. I save them as a jpeg. When viewing in Windows XP picture fax viewer they look great. However, if I open them on my web browser, post in a windows messenger chat, or open with Paint Shop, the colors are not the same. I have checked my Photoshop color setting, and it is SRGB. Can anyone help? If I save them to a disc and share with family, are they viewing the right colors? If I send them for print, will it print like Photoshop/Windows XP Viewer colors, or like the web browser view. Why are they not matching?

You need to turn off color management in Photoshop if you're editing an image that's going on the web.
Go to Edit|Assign Profile Don't Color Manage this Document and edit the image.

Web browsers don't use color management PS does, and maybe Fax viewer does too, I'm not sure.
If you want the images to look the same in PS and on the web turn off color management.

Thank you for your reply. Would that be the reason why the colors are different in paint shop pro as well? I sent some picturs to a friends mac and sadly the colors were flat and gray on her computer. So, it must be something more than just the web.

What do you mean different in Paint Shop Pro, flat and dull?
What program was your friend using to view the image on the Mac?
Did it support color management?

Do what I suggested, open an image in PS, and turn off color management.
Edit it until it's the way you like it and then save it.

View it in the web browser, how does it look?
It should look the same in the browsers & PS.
