By your statement that you are new to Photoshop, I presume you are asking for an explanation of how best to do this, not someone to do the work for you, right?

Hi Tom,
Yes I would really appreciate learning the procedure please. This is a family wedding photo that we hope to alter for posterity.

New layer used the healing tool to remove the necklace, back to other copy quick masked out the necklace placed back on top of new layer with removed necklace on it.
Warp tool to position central as per request, gave a new wash colour layer to bring out skin colour reduced size as is my way.

Hi Sprucemagoo,

Thanks for helping me out. The result is great. Would you mind explaining the process please so that I can have a go myself.

Regards
Reetz

Yes, I firstly copied the layer, and then created a layer mask, which I inverted so I could just go over the chain with a black brush. I then pressed Ctrl+t and span it slightly to straighten the chain, then went over any of the old chain with the black brush on the mask. I then repeated this with the pendant bit of the chain.

Hi Sprucemagoo,

Still a novice, learning where to find parts of instructions eg inverted etc but will work hard on it thanks.

If you double click the thumbnail of the mask, which is next to the layer thumbnail, there is a button that says invert in the dialogue box that opens.

If you have something selected, you can invert your selection by pressing Ctrl+Shift+i

To invert the colours on a layer, select the layer and press Ctrl+i
