New File Opens with a Black Background

Hi when i go to file open it opens as a black file. Im fairly new to photoshop but its the first time its happened. The colour mode is set to RGB colour. Ive tried changing the background contents but it makes no difference. Thanks

When you open a new file, make sure that the background contents is NOT set to black. Set it to white or transparent.
