I am quite new to Photoshop....Now I want to design my own tea bags wraps. They will have a kind of rectangular shape with some additional flaps on the sides. There will my logo (that I already have as a png file) on the front side and some text on the back side. I want to place 3 of them on a letter size paper and print it out on my home printer.

I was thinking to start with the Pen tool to make a path, then convert it into a smart object and insert the front side image somehow? After I design one, I can clone it to have 3 per page.

Is this a right approach?

what do you think?

Thank you

If I'm following you, start with a template created with the tool of your choice. Place your type and logo in the correct position so that when it's printed, it will come out right after it's folded.

Sorry, forgot to answer your question. Yes I think this is the right approach.

Inserting the front image is just a matter of opening the image file into the template file and transforming to size and position.

Thank you IamSam! You are amazing! I was thinking of a similar design :-)

Should I make a path with a pen and then group it somehow with logo, background and backside text?

Should I transform it all (path + logo + text+ background ) into a smart object so I can re-size it or move it?

Tea? are u sure?

I would keep everything on separate layers so they can be changed at any time.

I actually used the Rectangular Marquis tool and the Polygonal Lasso Tool.

(Make sure the "snap to guides" is checked) (set up your rulers in "inches)
I placed guides where I wanted them according to the dimensions of the wrapper........

On a new layer I then made one rectangle and filled it with white (you can use any color)........

On another new layer I made this one with the Polygonal Lasso tool and filled with white.....

The two combined. Just in case you need them later, duplicate the two layers and then combine the dupes. (cmd+E)

You can now turn off the guides.

Add any text or logos on their own layers! This gives you the ability to make changes later.

Once you have all the layers in place, you can highlight them, copy/duplicate them, and then merge the dupes. You can turn the final combined layer into a smart object if you like.
