Need to create Rail Road Brush

I'm creating maps and need to create a brush in Photoshop that will draw Rail Road tracks and follow the direction of the mouse or cursor. I'm just looking for two simple lines with cross marks. I need to be able to just brush around in any direction and have the line look like a simple Rail Road graphic following the direction I draw.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Rob

Try a Google search for photoshop brushes, maybe a zipper type would work,good luck.

Two choices; find the brush or make one yourself.

a) it's hard to find the proper brush
b) it's hard to make your first brush

The second time when you need a brush;

a) it's still hard to find the right one :cry:
b) it's easier than the first time to make a brush :righton:

Conclusion: make your own brushes. :P

In this quick example I'm showing how you could approach this;

- Quickly create the main part, select all and select in the menu Edit/Define Brush Preset....
- Set up the brush and pay attention to Brush Tip Shape and Space Dynamics/Angle Jitter which has to be set to Direction.
- Create a path or selection and stroke it with this brush (works better with corners than just using your mouse to draw)

Be aware that the result is never going to be perfect in the corners (see attachment).

Excellent. I did try for awhile and did make the initial brush exactly as the one you made. I just couldn't figure out that I needed to set 'Direction'. I appreciate your response.
