hey im new, and I want to make this screenshot from a movie into a poster for my friend. its our favorite scene from the movie (wedding crashers) and i thought i'd actually get him something he can enjoy. was just wondering if someone could photoshop a title into it and pretty it up, then give me a tip on how to make it the right size to be printed on a larger scale (24x36)

Title would preferably be in the same font used for the wedding crashers movie poster, or whatever looks good, but I want it to say

Chapter One
Its only Monday

any help would be appreciated thanks

That is easy peasy and you could even do it in ms paint. However unless you want a blurry looking poster you will need to get a better movie pic. Below is what a section of your picture looks like blown up to a 24x36 level.

besmirched hit the nail on the head. Your image at 300ppi for printing is 1.557" wide x 2.33" high. That's all there is and their ain't no more..not hardly 24 x 36 able.

You would need like the original footage or better yet a photo of that scene being made to achieve poster quality. A blu-ray copy of that movie would be a max of 1920x1080. That is like 6000 pixels short of a 24x24 at 300 dpi. I tried the best I could to get it clear. I even went through the trouble of finding my copy of the movie, popping it in the computer, screenshotting it, and editing it. Still no where near poster quality. You can have what I made though, as it is probably the closest you will get unfortunately.

This will print as an 8x10. You may be able to scan it after it is printed and be able to get it that big. It won't be great, but a poster is viewed from a distance and the resolution won't be so critical. This is 300ppi. I accomplished this by using an old trick that is supposed to be used as an emergency method only. I wrote a little action that increases the original by 10% at a time. By doing this it doesn't seem to mess the pixels up like doing it all at once. Maybe this will help. I have used this method many times in a pinch and it does work..to a point.
