Ok so I want to create a Wordpress or wordpress like website where users can post content to the site such as pictures as well as have their own profiles. I realize this is a tall order but I am really looking for somehing good. Can anyone help me with figuring out how to do this? Thanks.
 
If you want to do it with WordPress then you just have to change the roll of your user. If you make your user editor then he /she can post content or picture. I think you have to make user Author. An Author can post in your site and he/she has own profile.

As per your current requirement, I feel wordpress would be the best option. You can create your own design or there are lots of options are purchasing Theme which would be suitable to you. I have suggested you wordpress because it is user friendly CMS. So user can create profile without any technical knowledge.

I've understood your question in a way that suggest you want to create something like a forum based on Wordpress as CMS, is that true? If so, maybe have a look ad Buddypress. I would love to post a link, but I am under 5 posts so I can't, please Google it. It gives you everything you need to create such functionality.
