Need Help with Making Selection

Hi,
I have a photo of a girl and I want to select her. That works fine. However, she has her hands on her hips and I also need to select the area from her shoulder to her hip inside where her arms are so that part of the background will also be cut out.
Can someone please tell me how to do this? I've looked in all my books and searched this forum and can't seem to find an answer.

How or what tool are you using to make the selection?

I'm using the quick selection tool.

Then just click on the area you would like to select.

Also, choose 'add to selection' from the tools options bar or press alt/option.

You can also switch to "Quick Mask"....just paint to add to your selection, or post up the image. You can select anything with the Pen Tool

Also use Auto-Enhance.
