I have a graphics issue.

First Im having trouble getting opengl to work and that may be part of this but continue reading...

You need opengl for somethings to work such as rotation tool and various other filters etc. I cant get opengl to enable but the on-board graphics acceleration works and does allow the rotation tool to work as if opengl is doing it. So far so good.

When I open a new image I can use the rotate tool on it regardless of the number of layers. When I open a previously created, multi-layered image it does not work. Thinking that there may be something about the image, such as adjustment layers or something, that prevents the image from rotating I moved each layer over to the newly created image and the rotation tool works!

When I try to rotate the old image I get the familiar error that it cant rotate with a document that has not been opengl enabled.

Here's the question...is there a way to enable opengl or graphics acceleration in each individual document as opposed to globally via preferences? Why would a new document rotate and an old not, with an error stating that the document is not opengl enabled?

Anyone had this happen. There must be a config I've missed.

1. Which operating system are you using?
2. Which version of Photoshop do you have installed?
3. Have you recently updated your video drivers?

For instructions on updating your video card, see Update your video card driver. Get updates directly from the video card manufacturer:

Windows:

Note:
Be sure to choose the correct driver. Notebook drivers sometimes have a different name than similar desktop drivers.

Mac OS X:

All the above could be true. I have had to turn off opengl in the past, though not now. I have never had any problems with transform or filters when that was the case. If you go into preferences, you can reset this, check open gl.

You might try resetting all preferences when you open PS. Sometimes strange behaviours by the program can be cured by that action. Of course, if you have changed any preferences to your specs, you'll have to reset those.
