Need help removing mom, dad and son from this photo, only want to leave the little girl. I tried watching some tutorials using the patch tool, etc but it was not coming out right. I would greatly appreciate if someone could remove them for me and then explain how they did it. Thank you!

Why not do it yourself and get the people in here to give you tips on how to improve. Use the clone stamp tool. Have fun and good luck :)

I think you're right. Maybe I just needed the right info, it's working like a charm now. I was using patch. Thank you!!!!

Open a blank layer above this layer, select clone stamp then make sure you select Current and Below on the tool bar.
Use the clone stamp on the blank layer.
All your changes are non destructive and are cloned to the blank layer.

Before you start adjust the exposure, and straighten the horizon, and don't use the image you posted, use the original.
This image is way to small to give you a good finished product.

dude. here you go!

If your not careful, you will blur the edges of the trees.

I created a layer mask to avoid this.

I first duplicated my original layer and then added a layer mask.

I turned off the original layer.
On the layer mask I used the Brush tool to mask any area where the trees and the people came into contact.
(NOTE: I filled them with black for visibility)

Working on the duplicated layer (not the mask) I used two tools, the Patch Tool and the Clone Tool to remove the people.
That was pretty much it. With the Clone Tool, work with a small brush size and sample often.

Thats the way to do it, said Mr Punch to any Photoshopper out there:thumbsup:

You must also bear in mind...

We don't usually do free edits but would rather teach people how to do it in PS. Tho this is up to the members choice whether to do the edit or not.

You must also know how to differentiate between one who just wants a free edit or one who needs technical assistance.

hmmmm no one like it?

Only because you asked...you need to pay more attention to the details. There are white splotches to the left of the tree, the bow of the boat wasn't done right, the side of the tree isn't done accurately and you completely missed a spot on the right side of the girl.

But the worst error here is the blown out background....Before we "fix the scene" we need to Correct the exposure. If you can see the image, it is easier to cut and correct
