hello! :D

right, just to clarify, this computer desk is nearly as old as me, but it is hard to come across one as structurally sound as it that will fit the PC on the top.

so yes, it is a little mucky and beaten to practically a pulp, but it will be sorted with a year's supply of sand paper when I get around to giving it a make over, trust me, when i say make over, I don't just mean a lick of paint, I hate cutting corners.

I only realized how bad it was after I cleared all of the junk from it this evening...

so anyway! this is the desk:

I apologize in advance for the web of cables, my cable management skills are like those of a 3 year old, and the bow on the top of the case is an inside joke.

I need help choosing colors etc, I was thinking maybe black and red, seeing as both my computer, my mouse and my mixamp (the black box next to the keyboard) are black with red lights. but then, my screen is silver, and I kind of like silver too.

I was thinking of integrating a mouse pad, and using spray paint and stencils to make the pull out shelf more interesting, and the top of the desk too.

what say you?

someone recommended doing away with the red, and keeping it all black with a white LED under the desk top to illuminate the interface devices at night time.

it's a little shoddy, I wanted to do it quickly.

Lime green walls with a deep orange stripe running across the wall behind the computer table at eye height while sat at said computer:mrgreen:

The way I deal with old stuff like this is to faux paint it. IDK if that would go with your sensibilities but I would make it black or taupe then sponge it with copper and a green in some spots to create the verdigris. Or bronze it, but add an old patina. Sponging is really fast and I think it makes a nice weathered looking finish and gives it a metallic appearance.
