Need Help, How can I mimic this?

Hey all,

I'm usually using photoshop for my photography but I can across this design I would like to create for some of my photos and backgrounds. I've done so searches on here and Google and having award time finding exactly how to accomplish this... My best guess is brushes? Anyone have any advice? I don't even know what to call this to search further for it. So far all i have found was the tut: "photoshop-dragon [period]com/Tutorials/Art/Light_Burst_Backgrounds.htm" [sorry can't post links so take out the spaces and add the "."]

Anyhow here is a shot of what i am trying to do....i want just the red/orange line designs....(its attached)

i want just the red/orange line designs....

you mean like this:

If that's the case it's just a custom shape, created whit the pen tool, make a selection out of it, and filled whit a custom gradient, also added layer styles for the yellow outline, and added some Gaussian noise 2% at the end.

Thanks for the reply. I circled the design i'm looking to mimic for better understanding. Its more of the faded lines (V's) coming out of the red.
