Hello all gurus,

We plan to develop a new mobile app for products.
The new app just with six buttons, and we can easy to add the functions to this app, but we can't make the simple and beautiful UI.

Below is our draft for the UI:
UI_12.jpg UI_9.jpg

The buttons icon and bottom design are acceptable, but the header is too ugly, I want to change it. Anybody can give me some suggestion or help me about this?

By the way, the app is designed for control home alarm system, and related to security industry.

The advice given is fair, but again the 'should be' is not.
Unless the 'OP' wants it moved to freelance that is.

Hello, thanks for replies. Actually, I hired some people to do the UI, but they did it more ugly, that's the reason I want to try design by myself. Above it's my draft work or final piece, but I'm not satisfied it, because I think there is improvement in the APP header design. Below it's other similar app UI design.

I need help, please I beg your help.

Schedual is actually spelled S-c-h-e-d-u-l-e.

I'm not sure what is being asked for here?? If you want to design it yourself, then what or where do you need help? Be specific.

I think there are elements from each style that work. IMO:

In your first examples, the buttons are too large. All those addressing arming or disarming should be together. So if they were grouped by twos, they would line up logically. Then the button size might not seem so disproportionate. Maybe if the square faded into the black by using a radial gradient, grey in the middle to black edges thereby blending into the black BG, or a combination of whatever color your square is with a gradient to the BG.

I'm not sure what the three dots signify on the freelance work you had done. Links? Unclear to the user I'd say. However, your nav bar at the bottom should shrink a whole lot in order to make the overall design more appealing.

I like the black background, but I don't like the house photo. I do like the black or dark blue, signifying night time. I think the burgundy shade is kind of ugly, lol. But I like the bubbles for the design. On second thought, they don't seem relevant.

The light flare at the bottom of the midnight blue example is also nice and abstract enough that it could be inert, so to speak, but that's about all it is for your business if you ask me. Maybe you should consider an arc of stars or starbursts. Maybe even design your logo around that idea, then repeated at the bottom of the page, behind and above the bottom navigation. The house icon is very trite. I believe it is used a lot for security systems, insurance companies, and so on.

I'd come up with a better idea relating to the benefits of having a security system. The idea of the stars, IMO, is that night time indicator and the idea that you guys are stars.

OK, those are my thoughts on the matter. All I can think of at the moment.

I had time to work on my suggestions to you. This is a rough idea of how you might rearrange your own ideas and change things to improve the appearance. Do I flatter myself, LOL?

Obviously, as you know from personal experience, you can completely change your design or take elements and use them differently and so on. So you're never stuck nor need to trash everything you like. Though sometimes that is the best thing to do. A fresh perspective and a new start.

If you like this, or any part of it, you are welcome to recreate the ideas (they're mostly yours anyway), or I would be happy to take it as a job. Let me know what you think of my recreation, that is, re-creation.

Hello Guru,

Thanks for your reply. I noticed the wrong spelling. I need help to make the UI more simple and elegant.

Many thanks for your help
. I noticed the buttons are too large, I think the icon with circle is best solution, thus remove the transparent square.

Just like you said, If just keep the icons on the bottom, make the interface more appealing.

I don't like the house photo also, but I can't either remove it or keep it. I think I need to find some other items to replace the house photo, as well as the house icon in the middle.

You are right, the bubble abstract background is nice for the appealing, but it's not related to the business, I choose to use the black background. Actually, it's so hard to find correct background, using the imagination, yeah! still no idea comes to my mind, a few ideas, but without enough skill to make it, also hard to blend into whole design.

I'd come up with a better idea relating to the benefits of having a security system. The idea of the stars, IMO, is that night time indicator and the idea that you guys are stars.

Thank you for your response. Do you have any feedback on the adjustments I made to your design? The more you comment on design ideas, the better we can help give you design ideas. If you have images, elements you think you might want to use but aren't sure, post them and we can give you feedback.
