Hello there!

I found this photo online and think it would be a great idea for our high school seniors.

Football_Collage.jpg

I would like to make something similar using the following photos but could use some tips on how to accomplish this. I have experience using Photoshop but I'm curious as to how this might have been done.

Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated. I am not looking for someone to create this for me.. Just to help me figure out what methods were used so I can create it myself. Thanks!

well, the easiest way for me to create a custom layout is

File -> Automate -> Photomerge

Select the Interactive Layout

Browse and Add the images and hit OK

-----------
It would provide you all the images in one single plane and then you can adjust them the way to like (reduce size, tilt them, one on top of other etc etc)..

And then once done, it gives you the images in layers and then you can add custom effects the usual way.

I use use very often to create quick collage and I can experiment with the placement of pics without the hassles of going to each later every time.

Hi HK,

Consider the collage as having a background, middle ground, and a foreground. Make it a blurry view of the crowd or stadium.

Start with a background, the furthest or deepest part of the image.

Use masks, gradients, and blending modes to create the middle ground. The scrimmage, the boy in the helmet, and the boys face.

And use the Pen tool to remove the background and isolate the figure for the foreground. The boy running.

Since you say you have experience in Ps, it's hard for any of us to guess at where to start helping you.

I know youtube is not the best place, but do a search on "Photoshop combine two photos". And then watch several of the tutorials and their techniques for accomplishing this task. This will help with creating the middle ground of your collage.

Last but not least, watch your copyrights.

Thanks for the comments. Here is my first attempt at it. Maybe this will help you give me tips on how to improve it! :) Oh, and I ended up using some different photos to make it work a little better.

Side note... I have permission to use these images so there's no copyright issue.

Thanks!

Kammel, some things you can flip. the main picture, the words and numbers are backwards, doesnt look good. also, i would blur the top left image a bit more.
