I'm trying to change the color of an image of a bottle from black to light gray. I've spent hours experimenting with different types of adjustments and still couldn't archive the result I want. Please see the attached images below...

Any help would be appreciated!

I'd recommend a selective color adjustment layer. Adjust the blacks to get the grey tone you want, and then adjust the neutral tones to white for the look of reflections, as I did here.

I recommend listening to those two .........LOL nice job guys!

Hawkeye, that's the look I wanted, but I can't seem to get the same look on my end.. I got the bottle to look grey with dark reflections and when I adjusted the neutral layers, everything goes white. How many layers did you create? Did you adjust the black and neutral tones on the same layer?

I'd recommend a selective color adjustment layer. Adjust the blacks to get the grey tone you want, and then adjust the neutral tones to white for the look of reflections, as I did here.

One layer for both adjustments, don't forget you need to mask out the effects where you don't want them.

I finally got it after playing around with the black and neutral tones! Thanks Steve and Hawkeye for your suggestions!

Actually I'm going to play around with Hawkeye's method, I like the way it came out.
I learn something new everyday on the forum.

Steve, it's funny but I seldom see that adjustment layer mentioned much, if at all. I use a lot, especially when I'm trying to match or alter skin tones.

I'll have to play around with it more Ralph, I almost never use that adjustment.
You're the guy that got me practicing with pen tool too.
It's not something I need much for what I do but definitely good to know.

Looks real good.If I were you I would work on adding a reflection to the image just to give it added pop....just an idea
