Hello,

I am new to the forum and have a question about the appearance of adjustment layer thumbnails or icons. At times when I create an adjustment layer the thumbnail comes in as I expect ie a levels adjustment layer shows the scale icon. But at other times the layer will show a circle that is half black and half white like the add adjustment layer icon at the bottom of the layers palette.

I can?t figure out why this happens or what triggers it to change. It has no impact on the functioning of the layers it is just annoying and I like to see the correct thumbnails so I can tell what kind of layer it is at a glance.

I?m stuck anybody know?

Thanks for your help

Wrong Adjustment Layer Thumb Nail Apprears

I am having the same problem. I just bought the CS4 Power Session from NAPP featuring Matt Klosowski. In the video he is demonstrating the adjustment pallet. When he adds an adjustment a new layer appears with a corresponding layer thumb nail that represents that adjustment. When I add and adjustment the half black and half white circle appears. How do I make the thumb nail represent the adjustment?

Thanks

Choosing Layer Thumb Nail Sizes

Figured it out. Click on the thumb nail icon while holding down the Control button. This will give you the choice of thumb nail size. The no thumb nail choice makes the thumb nail the circle with half black and half white. The other choices give you varying sizes of the represented adjustment
