Myself as Hitman Codename 47

Not a bad attempt. The gun looks too big though, and might be more interesting if you added a bit of smoke at the end of the barrel.

you'll be surprised, I had a full size BB Pistol of near enough the same design and it was about that size, from looking at it.

i agree with DV8 though, a thumb may be a good idea :P

I don't know if your thumb is in the right placement, but if it is, you just need to use the layer mask to paint it in. Otherwise, maybe get a squirt gun to get the position and photograph that to mask out for the manipulation. Yeah, sounds stupid. But whattya gonna do? Run down to the kids on the corner . . .

Another problem is sharpening. Your wall and the gun are very sharp - tho the wall is sharpest - and you are blurry. I don't think you can sharpen yourself enough - you would need a better photo. You can sharpen yourself some, but to help it all work together you will need to blur the BG, possibly the gun but it may be OK after sharpening the figure.

A couple more observations. For some reason, the fingers on the gun are translucent! Also, your selections need some work. Zooming in on the gun will tell you why the pen tool is the best tool for selections of this type. You have white outlines. You can always clean them up using the polygonal lasso in a mask or through delete, but a pen tool selection will not require all the screwing around. Your person is cleaned up better but not completely and it looks like you used refine edges or mask. Too much smoothing and/or feathering.

Honestly, I hope you don't take my critique as negative criticism. We all need to hear about our little flaws so we can improve. We want to pull together this kind of manipulation, so it all has to blend properly, not necessarily "realistically," but artistically with, as I think it was fatboy who said, not verbatim, but not so unrealistically that it looks wrong.

I like the composition which is the first thing I look at. I like the lights, the blue glow, the choice of wall texture, the emblem on the wall, which I would move down and over to the right some, and the stance and the outfit. Hmmm, that's pretty much all the elements.
Keep up the good work!

Hey thanks for an in depth review, to be honest I did this image very fast I don't know why but I'm kinda hasty in Photoshop a very bad habit for me... I did this image in 15 minutes or so I guess... but I must not do this ever, now I can see...

I agree about thumb :( I don't know how I forgot about it, crap. Now let's talk about the selection, yes I did selection by using Pen tool then contact of 1 pixel followed by feather of 5 , inverse and delete. I also agree about sharpness thing but the size of the Gun is okay IMO...

common now, a person who is willing loves to learn if he's senior or junior.. you can always criticize me wherever you want.

I used to be hasty in submitting work while just starting out in Photoshop. I did learn though, you will always miss details and spending that little extra time can make a huge amount of difference.
