My Styles panel won't stay in view

Guys, easy on me. I still use ye old CS version.

The styles panel won't stay visible. Open WINDOW> tick STYLES> click back into working PSD> styles panel dissapears > return to windows > Styles has lost its tick. > start over > call photoshop gurus 4 help.
