Working on a bit of logo branding for myself, as I may give my blog a make over. I pen-tooled all the text, so it was precise & hopefully more original. Not sure whether to leave this black, or add some color & fx. I like how it's looking.. I just think it needs that little something to make it pop.

Love it lol...

I would keep it black and white but also have some solid colour versions. I would leave the effects alone.

Thx Inkz. I will have a go at some color versions. Leaving it simple makes it easier to use. The SPWA took a good few hrs of sketching & Pen-tooling over a grid I made, to make 4 cohesive letters that looked like they were all the same font.

Maybe if I'm feeling crazy I'll do the rest of the alphabet , then I have a font for some flow through other pieces.

I love it. I agree with Inkz; I would stick with the black & white. It would be interesting to see a color version but it is more of a silhouette, a vignette, and I think it is best B&W. If anything, perhaps a subtle gradient from each end to the middle, middle black, ends a different color. I don't think that would work any better than for instance, color added to letters, but if you're going to be trying color, it's a thought.

This is really good, though I think I would make the arms slightly thinker for the sake of really small instances of the logo. Horses for courses as usual though.

Good stuff!

Thanks ibclare & sprucemagoo. I have got in the habit now of writing a small notepad file in the folder for anything I do. In it I put any notes I want to remember on how I made it, and any suggestions anyone gave, so yours are now in there :). I also add a url link to an online version of it just in case I need it.

With regards to the arms, I really do agree, but I forgot to do that *facepalm*. The reason they are so so thin now, is the actual model they are based on, has double sided arms, which is basically a piece of paper folded in two. It's on the top of the list for changes.
