How's it going, long time roamer, first time poster.

I like to listen to creative music when I'm creating. Music like flying lotus, sound of amsa, bonobo and africa hitech.

Anymore suggestions? What do you recommend? I'm always on the lookout for new inspiring sounds to get the creative juices flowing.

I recommend playing photoshop, it's a great tune! Ever heard of it?

Hi Johnny, Like you, I enjoy music playing while I work, however I believe this is a massively open ended question that would garner as many suggestions as there are people to offer them! Based on your OP, my taste in music are thousands of miles apart from yours!

Music preferences are unique and varied among everyone, and I would think that just about any form of music that you yourself prefer and that stirs your creativity is the best suggestion I could offer.

Hi Johnny, welcome to the forum.

I have moved your thread to the off-topic section as General Photoshop is for discussion of Photoshop, not Music and Irish Jigs! JK

I agree with Sam, music is very personal, right down to specific tracks on a CD, etc. In my house, when my fiance is home, I get to work to the sound of TV, whatever it happens to be. Some of those commercial jingles are implanted now. Even got a member spoofing idea from on for our Avatar Wars thread, lol. The rest of the time, I often have total silence, not counting BG noise. I won't go into the music I use when I do.

I find that music is much more important when I am drawing or painting (or driving ... I need to be soothed from the idiot drivers on the road (I happen to be an excellent driver). And the list of what I find inspirtational is loooooong, as I'm sure yours would be if you wrote down everything (even by genre) that you listen to in a week's time.

I love to listen to music whilst creating in Ps...

Mainly Pink Floyd, The Doors and even some classical music.

Pink Floyd and The Doors are classical music.....jk. I listen to just about everything when working. Right now I'm listening to some old DR.Dre :)

The Skyrim Soundtrack can be found on YouTube. Its nearly 4 hours long so you can just let it play in the background. Its what I play whenever I'm doing homework or working in my office. My coworkers seem to like it as well.

I personally use Spotify radio most of the time. It's a good way to find new and great music while all being 'similar' to what you already love (I love all this modern and fantastical technology... just need my flying car and I'll be set!). I'm currently listening to a lot of experimental electronic.

thanks for the Skyrim suggestion, listening to it now!

Not a suggestion on genre, but if you haven't tried it yet Pandora is free and freakin amazing. Not only can you choose bands and genres for your own personalized stations, it's amazingly intuitive and I could swear reads my my mind when making song choices.

I do have to add that I'm really into Djent right now and specifically Animals as Leaders. You get the incredible, heavy, intricate music without the sometimes unwanted metal vocals.

Mainly a Hip-hop fan collecting music and Photoshop are two of my fave hobbies so they mix well ! :P. Anything with a laid back vibe is good to listen to and i have got to have a cup of tea ! (british thing)

I like listening to pink floyd, the asteroid galaxy tour while i work will toss in some other stuff once in awhile just to mix it up some

I normally don't listen to trance/techno or that genre at all, but when programming or working in PS, I think it's nice to have as ambient music. I think it's because I easily loose concentration if all of a sudden my favorite song plays, and I have to 'nod along'.

Also music like:

In Motion by The Original Movies Orchestra (tune from 'the social network')
Traffic by Tiesto
Bonfire by Knife Party
If I Had a Heart by Fever Ray

And again, thats music that I wouldn't normally listen to, I just like it as background/ambient music.

I guess the new Daft Punk album would be great as background music! Can't wait till I can drop it in the CD-player of my car.
