Of PhotoshopHello everyone.

My name is Nathan, and I am new here - with a question. I have been kicking the tires of Photoshop CS6, for a little bit, and am stumped on something. I have been watching a couple of video tutorials, and see where the instructor has a few different images sitting in the Layers panel area. Try as I might, I have not been able to find out how to achieve the same. Needless to say, I am not able to follow along with her examples, due to the fact that I don't know (yet) how to have my various images showing in the Layers panel area. Any help with this would be IMMENSELY appreciated.

Advanced thanks,

Nathan

Well, I just did a bit more online searching, and found some information that will be of help to me. From what I have been able to gather, utilizing 'Adobe Bridge' is the vehicle that I need to effectuate what I desire to do. It is from 'Bridge' that I am supposed to be able to easily send any imported/selected photos into Photoshop, with each photo resting within its own layer in the layers panel area. I usually open my photos into Photoshop, without any involvement with Bridge, but I may have to adopt a more active relationship with Bridge, now. I wasn't able to find any information on an alternate way of getting the same thing done.

Hello,
I am not exactly sure what is your problem, is it layer creation, putting other picture into new layer or something else ?
To create layers there is the whole top menu layers, you can create clean one, copy already existing layer, create it from selection and so on.
To put a new picture from the disk to the new layer you can for example open this picture in another tab and then copy or move either whole picture or only its part to desired layer.
In case it is something else or you would like more info about some of scenarios above, please specify.
Best regards,
Peter

Peter, here is a copied portion of that information I had found:
...........................................................................................
[h=1]Photoshop: Importing multiple images into multiple layers[/h]Did you know that you can load multiple images into a whole bunch of layers in one Photoshop file? Â Well, if you said no, then you’re not alone! The internet is filled with questions on how to do this so I thought it would be best to give a quick tutorial. Â I’m not sure about the support in CS3 and previously, but in CS4, Bridge gives you all the tools you need to import images into multiple layers in one Photoshop document.
  1. Open Bridge.
  2. Navigate to the directory that your images reside in
  3. Select the files. You can click and drag around them, or use the shift button to select multiple files.
  4. Now in the menu bar select Tools > Photoshop > Load Files into Photoshop layers
Now all those images are in one Photoshop files and you can get your edit or design on. How simple was that?

That, is exactly what I had wanted to accomplish. Now, it is about doing some things with this newly found knowledge :).

So you do not have the problem anymore, correct ?
If you want to do it without Bridge, you just make selection in one picture inside Photoshop and move it into another, it opens in a new layer of target photo.

Yes, I am pretty much squared away - as far as utilizing Bridge in order to achieve what I wish.

Also, the manner that you have suggested, to me, is one that I did have some knowledge of - and had used. But I had seen a number of tutorials where the displayed layers panel revealed more than one photo resting there, and I most certainly wanted to learn how to have that done.

This can be also done from other tab in Photoshop. Yes, it is easy and fast from Bridge, but if you a) do not use Bridge b) do not have pictures in the same directory c) want just a selection of the picture, then moving from another tab is a solution.

Thanks again. Much appreciation.
