Move crop area with arrow keys in one direction at a time

Hope this is not a stupid question, but I am a Photoshop newbie.

I want to crop a map I have made, but cannot get the crop area exactly where I want it. In some programs you can move the crop area with the arrow keys in one direction at a time.

Photoshop moves the whole area when using arrow keys. I know the mouse can move it in one direction at a time, but I find it hard to control precisely.

Any ideas?

Many thanks

If you mean moving the selection you've made for the crop area, make sure you're still on the Marquee selection tool and not pointer tool. You can move the selection in increments with arrow keys,

If you mean adjusting the size of the selection area with the move tool.... I don't think so either. BUT I have a workaround...

unflatten your image - double click the Background layer so it will become a layer. Do your approximate selection and crop. Change the canvass size in increments and with the pointer tool, click/drag the layer or select layer and move with arrow keys till you get the crop size and view you like right.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the helpful replies. It seems that I have actually found something that Photoshop cannot do as easily as say ACDSEE, where this moving of the crop boundaries with keys is a simple task.

I know this is not an easy method because it still requires some control but the way I do this is set up guides and maneuver the crop area around that.
