I don't have the source image so I can't show the final image:frown:

The point is to use the Minimum filter with the grayscale mask.

I don't know why you can't paste the grayscale version to the mask. I just selected all, copied it and then pasted it on the filter mask.

This is just one way to "thicken the lines of the maze" according to the distribution of the shadows in the source image. There may be others, I don't know right now. I just posted the first thing that came off the top of my head when I got my hands on my home computer

May be later I will come up with something better, like stroke Layer Style or something else...
