Okay, so, the last abstract wallpaper I made is evidently not going to be my, uh, last. Oh no, not by a longshot.

This latest piece is an attempt at blending colors in lieu of using warped shapes and focal points. I included just enough texture map to give it a slight bump but without any real consistency in order to create a more dramatic effect overall. I hope I accomplished my goal in some manner.

I call this one "Fire from the Heavens," but that is just my take on it. Enjoy!

Ya know, Crotale ... you better watermark your wonderful creations before you post them. Fundamentalist, fire-and-brimstone preachers already have their eye on your art.

PS - Just funnin' you. :bustagut: That's really magnificant!

PPS - It's really too bad what happened to that guy's index finger, isn't it. He probably pointed it one too many times. ;-)

I like it Crotale. I think it might have more impact if you had some BG colors in a paler shade. It would give it more dimension. Just a thought.

To clarify: I know it has some touches of light and some areas of dark giving it contrast, but it seems just a bit on the bright side without much variance.

LULZ! Thanks, Tom. I was wondering what happened to his finger, but I realized my art must be so powerful that is was going after this dude's "hand of god." Har har.

Thanks for the feedback!

I tried doing exactly that at first, but it somehow made it feel "off" if that makes any sense. I did make the overall effect a bit bright, but that was on purpose to get a more vivid picture. You will probably notice that all of my artwork involving scenes use dramatic lighting effects. I did not want to go that route with this wallpaper, since this isn't a scene. I might have taken a less optimal route in what I did here, but I am happy with it, and I don't say that very often about my own work.
