Modifying Brush Strokes in PS

Hello, one of the things I like about Lightroom is the ability to partially 'subtract' brush strokes using the ALT key, rather than deleting the entire brush stroke and starting all over again. Is it possible to do the same thing in Photoshop? If so, how?

If you applied the brushstrokes in series, let's say you did five strokes, you can back up all the way or partially by using command Z on Apple, or option Z for PC. you can determine how far you want to back up within your preferences settings if that is what you been

OTOH, if you mean subtracting areas of the stroke once you make it, you can use the eraser, the lasso, any number of selection tools, and the delete key, or add a layer mask and remove it that way. Advantage of the layer mask, you can always delete the mask or disable it to see your original stroke.

If you haven't received an answer to your question, try to rephrase it. Right now, it leaves the question open to interpretation. Thanks.
