Metal forum signatures

I am trying to make my clans forum signatures and am trying to make a light and shiny metalframe around it.

All I can manage is to make a small one. Off course I can make it larger, but I don't like the way it look. I want one with more shine and bright (real) look.

This is the small one:

Can someone please help me started with the .psd file?

It would be a long story for me to explain how to do it, so instead, why don't you try one of the many Photoshop styles. Do you have the Photoshop Wow! book? It comes with a huge collections of styles, many that you might find useful for this project.

No, I dont have the WOW book. Maybe I will buy it, but I was hoping for some startinghelp over here. Doesn't anyone take the challenge and help me at the same time?

OK...this is what I have come up with now.... (nothing like the small one, but still OK I think)

What do you think?

What improvement should I add and how do I make the soldier the same metal look as the signature?

And the text in my name is boring...just plain Verdana... no blending options. Can I do something cool about that too?
