I'm a web designer and the other day I was getting really frustrated with photoshop. When I have the marquee tool I click and hold to drag the layer, however it always picks the layer that I click over and not the layer I have selected. I never remember photoshop working like this and it pisses me off to no end. I'm sure it's something simple like one of my keys is stuck but I don't know how to fix it. If you don't understand my problem I'll give you an example.
- I have Layer 1 which encompasses the whole area but has a fill opacity of 0% so you can only see the layer effects.
- I add Layer 2 which is text and is beneath Layer 1.
- When I click and drag with marquee tool it always moves Layer 1 and not Layer 2, no matter which layer I have selected. I have to actually turn off Layer 1 to move Layer 2.
It is soooo frustrating but I'm sure it's something stupid I screwed up somewhere.
EDIT: Figures that RIGHT AFTER I post this I figure it out. For those of you who have this happen just uncheck the "auto-select" box in the upper left. I hate myself lol.
