Hello everyone... do not know if this is in the right section but here go's..

I am realy in to maniplulations using photoshop... I am new to it and have search Youtube and the web for tutorials, and on here, picked up some good advice and tips..

But, when i see a tutorial that i'm realy intrested in it always seems to be a SPEED ART tutorial and just can not get to grips watching them on how this or that was done.

I dont see whay anyone dos speed art unless its Youtube rules or something, me personaly cant make head nor tail of anything, only the end result of the maipulation and everything else before the end is so fast only Superman can read or watch it.

Dos anyone know where i can view some realy good NORMAL SPEED manipulatin tutorials online?

Thank you

Hi steve and thank you very much... those tutorials will come in very handy..

Sorry for not explaining more, i supose manipulations can cover a large area... I im interested in manipulations like this one on You tube ... Hope i'm alowed to post this link...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CITKnuL09mE. but again this is done in speed art... Looking for a tutorial in normal speed to learn from...

I've notice a member here called Inkz dos the kind of manipulations i like and are intrested in doing my self...I don't believe in mithering some one and beeing cheeky asking them how they did it as i would need a full tutorial because i'm slow at learning...Plus i want to do my own thing and not copy something, I just was/am interetsed in the way its created.. the steps.. the blending of images. how they use masks etc.etc. etc.. i am experimenting but it just seems to take for ever...

Any way..thanks for the reply and the link.. oh yeh,, hope i didn't break any rules posting the link or posting in this section ( being a new one and dumb)

The question is what is your skill level.

Do you understand layers, masks, adjustment layers, the clone stamp tool, the pen tool, selection tools, healing brush, etc., etc.,......... I can go on and on.

You're not going to be able to create anything like the link you posted until you know how to use the tools needed to make something like that.
If you're not familiar with the tools we'll be glad to help and the videos I linked to cover lots of the basics.

THANKS STEVE.

I know the basic to medium level of using layer masks and also being non destructive at the same time, but get confused some times when it comes to doing vector masking. I am ok with the pen tool as use it on a regular basis. Have trouble using the clone stamp tool but think this down to the brush ,opacity and flow leves i use which i am playing around with.

Adjustment levels still working on, never know wether to use hue and saturation, or levels or curves etc etc, again still working on this. The healing tool/brush is something i have never used and wouldn't now when or how to use it, guess i will continue to watch the videos.

thanks

It's a gr8 retouch tool. To be precise.....

The Clone Stamp tool clones exact pixels from one part of an image to cover another part of an image. I'd use it with the airbrush setting and with a lower flow strength.

The Healing Brush (not spot healing brush which does not need a a target set)does the same thing but also helps your new cloned area blend the pixels with the surrounding pixels . By sampling the surrounding area you can blend the imperfections into the rest of the image.

Here's something to help you out... View attachment healing_tool.pdf

In the pdf, there's a hint on the use of the curves adjustment.... as well as effects of the desaturate and burn tool....

Thanx.

There are a lot of speed arts for manip tutorials and like me, I found them near impossible to follow lol...

I actually prefer text tutorials with pictures.
