I am trying to give the affect of a thunder/rain storm but i can get the rain to look right.

i made a new layer
What i was trying to do was "add noise" about 30 or so. usuing defualt colors(black/white)
then i added a motion blur about 25 or so

then i lowered the "fill" down low, but i just dont liek the effect i am getting looks kinda like heavy rain but not enough to make me happy :P

Thanks again
Keith

Is this effect close to what you're thinking of?

This was done quite simply using just 3 layers.

  • 1) RAIN layer:
Clouds and Motion Blur. Increase contrast and sharpen. Set to Screen mode, Opacity=25%. Add layer mask, run Clouds, motion blur in opposite direction to rain. Play with Levels to make the rain more or less predominant.

    2) FOG layer: Clouds. Increase contrast. Set to Softlight, Opacity=75%.

    3) FOG BASE layer: Clouds. Set to Screen mode, Opacity=20%. Add layer mask, and manually paint in/out the areas you wish to keep/lose. This layer's effect is very subtle. [/list:u]
    Hope that help. :righton:
