Hi,

If I am masking a layer with a layer mask and then decide to make a adjustment layer to the picture in the layer mask how do I do that? If I try clipping the layer mask layer I only seem to adjust the layer mask and not the image.

Or copy-merge. IDK about you but I hate to lose the original work especially when masking is involved. I'll often copy-merge then group the originals. And if the doc gets to big I take all the originals out and make a separate psd for them. Only when I am really certain do I start to layer adjustments, but I still will keep the object layer as is. But that is how I do it. Makes for some large docs as I work, but gives me the flexibility to go back in and fine tune, tweak adjustments, discover imperfections and be able to correct them, and so forth.

Thanks, rookie mistake of thinking I was clipping the image but in fact I was clipping the mask. I only worked that out after reading the replies above and having another play with it.

So yh once I had the clipping arrow pointing at the first icon in the layer I was trying to adjust the adjustment worked :)
