Hi everyone !

A friend took this picture today but it looks very dark because the sun was in front of us. Do you think that you could fix it and improve the picture ?

Good work ! Actually I did it with my phone but I wanted to see if it was possible to make it even better cause photoshop can make some wonderful improvements but I don’t have it and don’t know how to use it anyway

There must be a balance in the natural light. The picture in your post #3 is overexposed and is looking fake.
When making a photo against a sunset/rise most people make the mistake to leave the device settings on auto.
The light sensor is then registring more than enough light due to the sunset/rise and the flash won't work, making the person too dark.
You should set your device on flash to compensate for the backlight...
Making the whole picture lighter isn't the way so I made the person lighter with a layer mask.
I even removed some of the sun burn on the back.
But keep in mind that due to the darkness of the original photo, making the dark parts lighter causes artifacts because PS doesn't have information for those parts.
