Make a Logo Larger Without Quality Loss

I have a logo that is very small and I want to make it very big. The problem is that the logo gets pixelated when I increase the image size and just stretch it, but I need this for printing on a large banner. What are the options for making an image larger without considerable loss of quality?

Thanks for helping.

depends on the image but can you just go to to >Image >Image Size>then increase resolution is if that helps

Printing on a large banner = very large image size. Unless you convert it to vector there's really now way to not have it get pixelated.

The good thing is that usually a large printed banner will be viewed from some distance away, so it might not look as bad as you think.

If it's a relatively simple logo I would first try converting it to vector. You can do this by tracing the image in Adobe Illustrator with vector tools.

There's some plugins that claim to do it better than the built in resizing algorithm in Photoshop, I think Alien Skin Blowup is one. I don't know how much better they are, but you can probably give it a shot with the trial version.

You can search for some software online. I have come across a few that promise to actually help increase the size without losing quality...I have never tried any of those personally but you can surely give it a try.
