Mac Pro Photoshop Performance Tweaking

Hey Guys, i think i have all of the hardware in place, i need to get the software playing nice. Here are the specs:

3.33ghz 6 core mac pro
10 gb ram
several 7200 1-2 tb hard drives
4 drive raid 0 SSD array
radeon 5770

CS4

Basically i work with large format, large size, multilayer photoshop and illustrator files (wall art, posters etc). I am running into performance issues when using brushes (takes several seconds to complete a stroke to catch up with cursor) and general file IO is slow. I am looking for suggestions on how best to set up this system (scratch disks, memory allocations, plugins software tweaks) in order to achieve the best performance. After doing my research on hardware, i feel as if i have all of the pieces in place, but i just need to know how to set the software in order to take advantage of it.

Thanks in advance!

With that hardware you should not be having any issues with brush lag.

Go to edit --> Preferences --> Performance. What amount of memory are you letting Photoshop use? Are you using the SSD array for scratch disks or the 7200 drives? Is Enable OpenGL drawing checked under your video card info?

Allowing 90% use, SSS raid as the scratch drive and OpenGL is checked.

When house md DVDI discovered the House when it was shown on Channel 5 in the UK, I immediately loved the program. The sky took over duties here in the UK and have been faithfully recording of season 5, but never enough time 24 hours DVDto see, so I bought the DVD zone 1 before the season ended here, and I I'm glad I did. I have not seen all season, however, but has not disappointed so far. The change in the relationship between House and Wilson is "interesting."I have beengrey's anatomy DVD watching House since it first started and I must say this has to be the best seasons so far. More happens in this season story wise then any other yet. Hugh Luarie is an amazing actor and you can really feal as though you are looking into the emotionally strained smallville dvdcharacter that he portrase. The cases are as dark as in previous seasons, perhaps more credible, except perhaps for the scene of an ectopic pregnancy, I am a nurse in the emergency the closer DVDdepartment, and if a woman presents with abdominal pain and is positively pregnant, always we suspected an ectopic pregnancy.I am pleased to see the rest of the series.

Wow, I had to read this like 6 times to realize it has nothing to do with the subject. :bustagut:
